Hello board.

I'm really enjoying this site. It's a wealth of knowledge and a lot of fun. Anyway, I think the story is getting old by now. Just purchased my first kubota, B6200 4WD with manual trans. Serial number is B6200D61222. Can anyone trace this number and get me the year? I've scoured the internet for hours with no luck.

I looked up the B6200 in the prior models from Kubota and it says they were made in 1983. This is the only year they show that model made. Cy ....

It was made from 1983 until the early 1990's. My B6200 is a '90.

Your B6200DT, with a serial of B6200D61222, identifies that it is a 1990 vintage.

Mine also is 1990, serial number B6200D62864.

Your paint was probably drying in the Japanese sunlight outside the factory when they were building mine inside. ....

Believe it or not, when I bought my first B5200 in 1987, soon thereafter I thought,hmmm, I should have found a way to have bought a second at the same time. Well 14 years later, after 4 years of honest to god hard searching, I found a virtual twin to my original...B5200DT, FEL,with turfs, within 50 hrs run time of each other, and get this, within 100 digits on the serial number sequence.

That is as close to finding a twin as I'll ever get! Oh ya...it performs as fine as the first! Maybe we should form a club..."The B_200 Club" or something. Man what next!

I bought my new trailer Thursday. When the guy brought it out of the yard for me, guess what he pulled it out with? A B7200!

I checked out his B7200 and it was the same except the engine was 927 cc and the B6200 is only 855 cc. What's the B5200 engine?

These cc numbers are from memory only. I know these engines are small compared to the new Kubotas B series. ....

As a footnote, that you'll see rather than hunting for it now, my little beast pulls a 6 x 10 tandem axle dump trailer through the woods filled with hardwood logs, no problem ! ....
